Thomas Jefferson University & Temple University Enter Exclusive Negotiations

Jefferson has signed an agreement with Temple University to pursue the purchase of the Fox Chase Cancer Center during an exclusive 90-day window.

Together, Jefferson and Temple would provide expert cancer treatments and breakthrough research to improve patient’s lives in Philadelphia and throughout the region. They would also enter into a long-term cancer-related academic affiliation agreement.

Jefferson Transplant Institute Best in Pennsylvania

Jefferson Transplant Institute achieved a five out of five rating by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients for liver and kidney one-year patient survival transplantation outcomes. This distinguised accomplishment places Jefferson among the top 10 percent in the nation. The Jefferson Transplant Institute is the only transplant program in Pennsylvania to receive the highest possible rating.

Jefferson Announces Raise of Minimum Wage to $15 an Hour for Employees & Wage Adjustments in January 2019

For several months, Jefferson has been evaluating an increase in minimum-wage pay. In January 2019, Jefferson will increase minimum wage to $15 an hour. This pay increase applies to all 14 hospitals, including Magee Rehab, as well as Thomas Jefferson University, and will benefit more than 1,800 current employees.

Five Jefferson Health Hospitals Earn "A" Grades for Patient Safety from The Leapfrog Group

Jefferson Health hospital received high marks across the enterprise from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit health care ratings organization. Five Jefferson Health hospitals have received "A" Grades in patient safety for Fall 2018. 

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign letter grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year.

HAP 2018 Donate Life Hospital Challenge

Jefferson Health Earns Titanium Designation in 2018 Donate Life Hospital Challenge

Jefferson Health earned a titanium health system designation – the highest status – in the 2018 Donate Life Hospital Challenge for the Gift of Life Donor Program by the Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP). Jefferson Health also achieved third place overall within the Gift of Life service area.

Jefferson was among 111 hospitals and 21 health systems who participated in the challenge throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
