JHS and Einstein Sign Separation Agreement

On May 28, 2008, Albert Einstein Healthcare Network ("AEHN") and Jefferson Health System ("JHS") signed a formal separation agreement. This is the next step in completing the separation of AEHN from the System, which was originally announced in January, 2008. The separation still requires regulatory approval and therefore is not expected to close until late summer or early fall of 2008. The decision to separate came after careful and thorough reviews by both organizations, which led to the conclusion that both AEHN and JHS could best serve their respective communities by separating and pursuing their strategic goals independently. The separation has been, and continues to be, amicable.
