Dianne Salter Named Vice President, Insurance, for Jefferson Health System In one of his first major staff appointments since taking the helm at the Jefferson Health System (JHS), JHS President Joseph T. Sebastianelli has named Dianne Salter as vice president for Insurance for JHS. She will be based in the System's corporate offices in Radnor, Pa. Ms. Salter brings more than 22 years of insurance and claims experience. She joins JHS from Marsh Inc. (formerly Johnson and Higgins) where she served most recently as managing director for Healthcare--Casualty. "Dianne Salter's wealth of experience and knowledge in the health-care insurance arena will greatly benefit our member hospitals as we redefine the System. She has worked closely with the system and its members for many years," said Mr. Sebastianelli. Ms. Salter began her insurance career as a claims consultant at Scottish and York in Princeton, N.J. In 1983, she joined the Property and Casualty division of CIGNA, as a senior consultant in Agency Automation. She moved to Johnson and Higgins in 1985. Included in her many responsibilities were client service/satisfaction and advising clients of changes in the insurance markets, specifically medical malpractice and general liabilities. She is known throughout the region as an expert on alternative risk financing vehicles for the health-care industry. Ms. Salter received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Delaware in 1978. She received a master of business administration in finance from LaSalle University in 1992. The Jefferson Health System was formed through the merger of the Main Line Health System and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, which was legally separated from the University in 1996. Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, Frankford Health Care System and Magee Rehabilitation became additional founding members of the system in 1998. JHS also includes long-term care, behavioral health, a rehabilitation network, as well as physician and home-health services. Its strategic alliance partners include Riddle Memorial Hospital, Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Underwood-Memorial Hospital, AtlanticCare and Christiana Care Health System in Delaware. The Jefferson Health System grew from a concept to being the largest
and most successful health system in the Delaware Valley with the greatest
geographic coverage and market share. JHS brought together five significant
provider networks into the region's only major not-for-profit health system
operating as a decentralized model. Published: 5-5-2003 Media Only Contact: |
